One of Those Days

Sometimes you wake up shuffle into the kitchen. In a semi conscious haze you realise your feet are wet because you just muddled through a puddle on the kitchen floor. As breakfast is being cooked you put your hand on something in the fridge, then realise it isn't cold. It is at that point you open the freezer and note the peas are soft.

I am waiting on a phone call from an electrician and let's just say the dogs and chickens are eating well.

*Good Morning*

Ohhhh, poor you! I know those days. I just hope whatever is wrong can be fixed easily, quickly and affordably.

Or you could laugh, and say well, at least you've got mushy peas for dinner tonight - without the preparation ;-)

Oh Dear!

I'd be having a few conversations with the dogs and chickens. They aren't to be trusted when food is involved.

I hope the problem doesn't end up been an expensive one.

Thanks Everyone,

I really appreciate your best wishes.

I sort of figure the electrician has to be cheaper than having to replace the fridge, which is what it looked like to start with. Thus the electrician is currently considered a win in the universal calamities stakes.

No huge losses. Most of my freezer space is generally taken up by flour and it tends to be tightly packed so it was really only the stuff at the front that managed to defrost before I found it.

Oh dear! Sounds like it wasn't *too* bad as these things go however. I hope your sparky sorts you out for a good price :-)

PS Word verification is "disco" - make of that what you will LOL.

Oh no! I'm glad it wasn't too bad in the end.....

I'm glad it could be 'fixed'....every time we've had an electrician to the house for an appliance we've been told 'sorry...it would be cheaper to buy a new one' !!??

Hi Julie,

We will see what the damage ends up being but as these things go it could be a whole lot worse so I am grateful.

Hi Tricia,

Not totally sure how bad it is going to be at the end yet but at least it does look fixable.

The main thing working in our favour is that it looks like the problem was originating with the power point and not the appliance. Both the fridge and freeze have now been running from the point over the other side of the room for over 24 hrs and the safety switch hasn't triggered again. Just need to make sure I don't hurt myself on the cords, I am an immense clutz at times :-D, before the electrician gets here.

Kind Regards
Belinda

I do hope its all been fixed. Electrics not doing what they ought is always frustrating and unsettling.
