You know Summer was cool when -
There are still tomato's trying to ripen in May
The strawberries cropped right through it
And
Autumn is warmer.
Prompting the early deciduous plants drop their leaves then re-sprout thinking Spring's arrived.
This is a space where a couple of my closest family and I share our thoughts, triumphs and occasionally our spectacular failures. I hope you all enjoy our journey

Those little weather anomalies sure confuse the plants, don't they? Ours were shocked when, after a week of highs in the low 90s and lows in the low 50s (all Fahrenheit), we had a freeze Sunday night. My newly planted little fig and pomegranate saplings both suffered frost damage.
Hi Chile,
It certainly does confuse the plants.
Sorry to hear about your fig and pomegranate, they are just that bit more delicate that first year. I hope they bounce back for you.
Kind Regards
Belinda
How are you guys going Belinda?
Does this mean you're doing a lot of canning right now? Often a warm fall means that the produce season is extended and more canning to do!
